WHAT DOES THE COUNTY JUDGE DO?
The Crittenden County Judge is the chief executive officer for the county government. The judge:

Authorizes and approves the disbursement of all appropriated county funds

Operates the system of county roads

Administers ordinances enacted by the quorum court

Has custody of county property
-
Accepts grants from federal, state, public, and private sources

Hires county employees except those employed by other elected officials of the county

Presides over the quorum court without a vote, but with the power of veto
-
Responsible for creating an annual budget for quorum court approval
-
Negotiates quotes annually for employee healthcare

Oversee's Office of Emergency Management

Only person who can authorize payment for claims
-
The office of Veteran's Affairs falls within the office of the County Judge
-
In the event of a county emergency, the County Judge can declare a State of Emergency

The County Judge issues burn bans throughout the county when necessary
-
Regular office hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday
